What's wrong with HIPS?

So I was in the bathroom in between classes and two girls come in talking about one of their "friends".  One girl says "Is Haliey still mad at you?  She can't even be mad because she has huge hips...it's not our fault."  I thought to myself...so what? I have hips and I happen to like them.  In the black culture being curvy and "thick" is what men look for. With today's media woman on television are seen are thin and skinny,but the way I grew up it's healthy to a little meat on our bones.

The "perfect" body?

Often times the media's idea of a beautiful woman shows that she has to be a size two and have blond hair and huge boobs. When black women are pictured in magazines they have to have green eyes or super dark skin to be pretty. They have long, what appears to be straight hair. They have to look exotic. How many black people do YOU know that have green eyes and LONG flowing straight hair? How realistic is that? Just because I wear a size seven, I am not beautiful? Who picks these "pretty" people? My hair is kinky and my eyes are a beautiful chocolate brown. In the black culture women with big hips and thighs are to be desired. Who says my big hips aren't sexy? If you ask me, my body is beautiful and I don't care what anyone says!
